Hi Roger,

Just wondering what the best combo for a 8' x 30" x 30" and will be keeping a mixture of soft and hard corals. I already have 2 x 6100's and multicontroller. I was currently thinking of getting the wavebox but i have been told that i will need the extension due to the size of the tank. I will be also running the 2 x 6100's i have and am thinking of adding another 2 of those or perhaps 2 x 6200's.

I will be running a deep sand bed and wanted to know if you think that will work well or what way i should go. Any king of diagram on placement would be good. Should i use 2 of the stream pumps at the back lower section of the tank to move deterius form behind the rock work?

Thanks
Michael

I calculate 375 gallons. You could try a wavebox without extension it will work but the wave may be shorter. Using streams behind the rock is ineffective and given the need for cleaning it is not advised. They should be near the surface and in general I would start with one in each back corner aimed to the front center and move them to suit your layout as needed.

Yes, from your description of inhabitants it doesn't sound like a high flow SPS only tank so I think this set up would be ideal for the combination.
