Best skimmer for under $500 ?

Looking for a good skimmer for a 210 gallon with 125 gallon sump im setting up. Will be fish only .So far im looking at the g4x its $469 on ebay with shipping.Any ideas will help thanks

for a FO you're way overspending on the skimmer.

for this FO I would be looking for a 24" venturi driven skimmer or similar (used but good shape) in the $150 range.

If you have any thoughts of going reef in the future I would stick with the big skimmer plan. I started out FOWLR and swore I would not do a reef and ended up with a reef. Go figure lol. Is this your first saltwater tank and what fish do you plan on stocking?

for a fish only around 250 gallons you cant go wrong with a SWC

I have 30 gallon reef.
Fish that im interested will not let me do reef and thats ok with me. Maybe a couple torches and couple frogspawns but nothing else really.

couple tangs havn't decided yet on which ones

you won't be able to keep torch corals with those fish.

Meyer's is an obligate corallivore so scratch that one from the list.

Yea i dont care about corals . I got couple other tanks with corals . This tank is for the fish i allwas wanted but couldn't

swc or the bubble magus are supposed to be insane skimmers. I personally use ASM with no complaints at all.

I would honestly just buy a Reef Octopus NW-200... it's a great skimmer that will work flawlessly on both a F/O & Reef. Well under $500, too!

NW 200 Rocks!!! Over skimmed my old 75 gallon. Pulls nasty crap out.

i dont know about all those other skimmers but after i got my swc 250 crankin growth and colors really took off.and i over feed,one big fat hippo,mimic tang,and an emporer.
