Best way to transport my loot on Saturday

I'm going to Columbus for the frag swap. 2.5 hours each way plus 4 hours there plus a swing by Akron to pick up another new toy means my new additions will be sitting in my backseat for about 6-7 hours. Do I need to take any special precautions besides putting the bags in a cooler?

btw, these things are deadly. Nothing like an empty aquarium and good prices on some great frags.

You could throw in a heat pack to keep the temp in the cooler at an acceptable level. I would try to keep it from making any contact with the bags. Maybe wrap it in some paper towels or something to help keep from overheating anything. You can usually find the 8 hr handwarmers in the sporting goods section at Walmart.

Hi,

Probably not more you can do but keep your time as short as possible. You might want to fill up some empty bags with salt water from your tank and put them around your frags to help stabilize the temp a little. Leave some air space in each bag so that there can be some gas exchange.

I transport all my goods down there on Friday, stay over, head to the swap on Saturday, trade/sell/buy, head back to my friends' place and then come home late Sunday. Never lost anything yet. I use the heat packs from Walmart and they work great. Real cheap too....look in the hunting section.
