Beta of new Apex firmware now available!

The syntax in post 119 is correct but you've left off the streaming portion of the URL

After the port number 1023 add /img/video.mjpeg

http://laserscamera.dyndns.info:1023/img/video.mjpeg

keep in mind if you're using a non-standard port like 1023, you have to adjust your camera's network settings to use that same port - just like you would with the Apex. The syntax in post #119 should get you your camera's application where you can authenticate and alter camera params. If so, then your router and camera are configured correctly and all you need is the video streaming portion that I listed. If you don't get your camera app using the syntax in #119, then you still have a network/camera configuration issue.

For some reason, I can not get video to show up on the dashboard.
I have a Trendnet TV-672WI IP camera, and I am using Firefox 16.0.2 on Windows 8.

According to Trendnet, I can access it by entering http://camera ip/directview/tvjview.cgi into a browser other than IE -- http://camera ip/directview/tvaview.cgi for IE.
When I go to that URL -- http://camera ip/directview/tvjview.cgi -- in Firefox, I get video. It is just not working inside the dashboard.

I have all authentication disabled --RTSP, HTTP, and Snapshot URL so I do not have to enter a user name or password.

Can someone please assist?

Neptune,

Please let us change the name labels for switches to something more meaningful (instead of Switch 1, Switch 2, etc.) or...
Give us a new panel type that allows us to place custom text anywhere on screen.

Thanks,
Clayton

Are you sure you're using MJPEG output format? It looks like with that camera you have a few choices but only one is MJPEG which is what the Dashboard requires.

Ok just forget about the camera - your right henry i give up
Bigger problems have arisen. I came home to tank with breaker switch thrown. All tank down. Try and get breaker back on but wont come on. Switch off power strip where all apex mods plugged in and power back on. Try and turn strip back on and breaker flips. Turn off all pumps, lights etc, from dashboard ( i have a backup power UPS) and turn on breaker and stays on. Turn on powerstrip and stays on. First time i turn anything on it then flips the breaker. Wow is this starting to be fun. My amp with nothing turned on is showing 0.1A on the EB8 and 0.5A on the EB4. How is that possible? :headwallblue::headwallblue::headwallblue:
By the way I did not get notification for the 12v power source taking over for some reason.

Just a possibility Laser, I had this EXACT same thing just happen. Took me an hour to find it. For me I have a couple of extension cords for some of the stuff clear on the other end of my 210. It seems some salt water dripped into one of their sockets and shorted it out big time. Don't ask me how, but it was black around the edges. The only way I found it was physically removing one by one the cords on the Apex until it no longer tripped.

Heavens bless Neptune and their tech support; they're about to have to teach the masses how IP and ports work ;)

I'm waiting on the final product before in update, glad to hear good reports so far!

I am not familiar with how to access the MJPEG output format with that camera.
I called tech support at Trendnet, and they were unable to tell me how to access that format.
I found a setting for profile 3, which is set to jpeg format; however, I can not figure out how to access that format's stream through HTTP.

Thanks TerenceF! Traced it down to the heater. Must have gone bad but no physical sign on the cord. I have everything back up and running. The only thing I have on the 20A dedicated circuit is the apex and all equipment running to it. I do have EB8,EB4,HD4,and DC8. My total amp pull is calculated to be around 17.3 according to all product documentation. I am having another 20A dedicated circuit run to the fish room and will split the load on each as well as get a new heater. Fingers crossed. By the way when tracing down trouble such as this the new dashboard made life much easier.
I.E. When toggling devices to manual off state you can easily turn off without having to keep refreshing the screen. Big improvement.
Will worry about video when it becomes much more familiar for everyone. Thanks for all your help!

Has anyone know how to connect a D-link 930L ip cam to support with the apexJR? i cant find a URL on it. only the 900 and 1000. i also dont understand how to put the port forwarding and etc. im so lost lol atm im reading over the manual about the dyns server but they said we can use the same as our apexJR ip. im just screwing everything up -_-

NVM, found it had to put :80 over ip address. saved my ipaddress in my router. im using

http:///video.cgi for dlink-930L

Anyone know the code for panasonic cams? I've got a bl-c230 none work and the ones that I have gotten a response I get either a still frame or a neverending file download.
/nphMpeg4/nil-640x480 gives me a file download that never ends

/SnapShotJPEG?Resolution=320x240&Quality=Motion
gives me a snapshot but no video

Any help is appreciated :)

Also seems like some urls do not allow the dashboard to be saved. When refreshed or reloaded changes are not saved. Possibly due to invalid urls?

now i can see my tank on the website, but when i go outside the wifi i get nothing. something about my remote URL, do i need to make my own Dyns server for this?

when you put in your IP address do you put a :xx? xx = port and you might get your answer there

No, but you'll need to configure a new port forwarding rule in your router. Do it the same way you did your controller but use your camers's IP address and your camers's port.

Then to access your camera remote, use your controller's DynDNS hostname like you normally would but append the camera's port instead of your controller's port.

If you did all this correctly, you should come into your router (DynDNS takes care of that) and as soon as your router sees that different port, will route the packet to your camera's IP address that you defined in the router.
