Beta of new Apex firmware now available!

the URL sends me to my camera but they can also click on my Setup and mess around with my IP address and such.

They would need to login to do that.

They would need to login to do that.

it requires me to log in first before they can see the video though. as in. they ask for my User name and Pass before they can See anything..

figured it out! made a Guest login and password. Thanks guys!

What camera URL are you using? Let me try it on a test system here. If it's not a valid videostream URL maybe it doesn't save.

edit: I tried a completely bogus URL and it saved it just fine on my test system (Chrome, Win7).
If I use this one I can get an image but no streaming.
http://IPADDRESS/SnapshotJPEG?Resolution=320x240

Which makes sense due to the "Snapshot" command (I'm assuming) but it saves at least.

The one You listed I believe I tried before.
/nphMotionJpeg?Resolution320x240&Quality=Standard

It looks to save on the video tile then I save the dashboard. When nav. away the whole dashboard resets to default. I was hoping it would just effect the video tile but it's the whole shibang.

Made a little progress with the Trendnet TV-IP672WI I can get a still image to display in the dashboard using this URL. http://"cam ip"/image/jpeg.cgi.

Now if I could only get video, or a way to make that image update, other than a manual full page refresh.

Got the firmware updated and no issues other than the month display already noted.

Has anyone heard if the dashboard functionality will appear in the iPhone and iPad apps?

Thank you! http://"cam ip"/video/mjpg.cgi worked!

So that makes two choices for the TV-IP672WI
http://"cam ip"/video/mjpg.cgi (For live video)
and
http://"cam ip"/image/jpeg.cgi (For a still image)

I think that we should put together a sticky thread of known working URLs for the required streams of the various cameras we have.
That way, when someone wants to add their camera to the dashboard, they just look up their info in that thread.

A thread with only the following information would work well. Attempt to exclude all general conversation from that thread.

Camera, Firmware version, URL after "cam ip" for video, URL after "cam ip" for still picture, Browser version used, notes.
For the Trendnet TV-IP672WI, the entry would be this
Trendnet TV-IP672WI
Firmware: 1.0.0.1418
Video URL:../video/mjpg.cgi
Still URL: ../image/jpeg.cgi
Works in Firefox 16.0.2.
Note: As of 11/10/12 does not work in IE10.

How about making the Unused Tiles pallet a bar across the bottom or top that is able to be scrolled. That way it's not in the way.

Also how about a shadow box pop up when you click on the outlet that opens up the programming dialog so it's not a physical page change.

Color schemes? Overall color schemes, also the ability to change the background, edge and color of the name of each tile. (Does the apex have enough internal memory space for this?).

How about a physical web login page so I can do remember me. I would like to set the apex as my homepage on my personal computer. If it saved the cookie with the user and pass and allowed me to open the browser straight to the dashboard.

How about an overlay grid to make it super fast lining the labels up. I know they snap into place when near the correct spot a grid makes it faster.

We also need a tile for the power loss and reset.

Can we have the ability to create Labels that look similar to the tiles that can be used as category headers. For example create a label tile for Powerheads then I can place all the powerhead related tiles under that label.

I also really like the idea of sliders for the VDM outlets would make dialing in the color temps super easy. This give me another idea. Would it be possible to add a 4th dimension to the slider that's labeled profiles? Then when you slide the slider over a drop down opens that allows you to select a profile.

Okay, So I have found a glitch. For the second time after adding the tile for my webcam they webcam works. But then the next time I go to refresh the webpages, the entire Apex home page defaults and I lose all my tiles settings.

I am using an Axis 214 camera the Axis access is
- http://74.62.193.110/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?camera=&resolution=640x480

This is a wee bit frustrating. It did this the other day when I added the webcam. I reset my tiles and it ran great for the last few days. This evening I went to add the webcam and as soon as I refresh everything reverts.

Suggestion: Clicking on the time and date time prompts to sync date and time?

If the Apex is internet connected then it will sync to an internet time standard (same as a PC). Can you elaborate more on your suggestion?

did you by any chance save as dashboard when your finished with editing?

Sure can.

My apex dosen't always keep time second for second with my computer, cellphone, etc.

I would like the ability to click on the time tile and it prompt for me to sync it with the desktop computer time. Just like it does in the apex iphone app.

If there is a feature to auto do this then ignore me, please inform me how to turn it on.

I have created a user-sourced database of camera models and their compatibility with the Apex Dashboard. You can view the database, including sort by model, manufacturer, etc. You can also submit a new entry. http://www.reeftronics.net/dashcamIf a camera is already listed, but your experience is different that what's listed, please feel free to make another entry.

Under "Clock setup", the top option (Auto clock set), when enabled will cause the Apex to sync with an internet clock standard. Most PCs today use the same method to sync time so if it is enabled the clocks should be very close.

I have had that enabled. But, for some reason its time doesn't sync up with my other devices..... It will when I update it, but over time it falls behind. I synced it last month and today it was over 5 minutes behind.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong...I have updated both firmware and web pages, cleared browser cache and cookies. I get the same webpage as before??

Anyone know what Im doing wrong... using Mac and latest Mountain Lion OS

Thanks

What is the filename of the firmware you downloaded? It should be apexflash_4_20BD12.dmg. If you downloaded something else, go here and download the right file
