Beta of new Apex firmware now available!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong...I have updated both firmware and web pages, cleared browser cache and cookies. I get the same webpage as before??

Anyone know what Im doing wrong... using Mac and latest Mountain Lion OS

Thanks

Apex Beta Firmware Ver. 4.2_BD12
This is what I have downloaded... it works, in that I get the new Apex Flash screen, and am suceessful in getting the update for the firmware and then the webpages.

I cleared my cache in safari, and when I go to my apex page, it's still the old software??

Are you using a saved URL bookmark to go into your controller? The old status page is still there in the new firmware. Is it possible you're going to that and don't realize there's a new menu item for the Dashboard?

You do not have a Dashboard menu? What is the AquaController Version listed near the bottom of the Network setup page?

Well, it looks like it is still the old version, 4.12J_5A12

Also I have been using the old bookmark as before.

Obviously.im still accessing the old software?

Yea, you're running the current production firmware. Use the link Russ provided. The software at Neptune's support page is only production. For Beta software, you need to know the link which Russ posted.

Yes, I'm using a saved URL bookmark, but I also enter the apex IP address and it brings me to the exact same page.

I don't see the new menu item, maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks

Ok, found it, uploaded "firmware update" and "update web pages"

Heard the ding both times and says it was uploaded successfully.

Cleared cache in safari

Then I go to my apex IP address in the bowser menu....

And voila! It worked! Thanks I must have been using the old update:debi::debi:

password trouble D-Link DSC 930L

password trouble D-Link DSC 930L

ok, I am doing something wrong. I have a D-Link DSC 930L that I cannot get to display in IE9 at all. I CAN get video in Chrome, but only if I first log onto the camera in a separate tab. If I then close that tab and go back to the Apex dashboard, my video displays. I'm sure I am just doing something stupid, but I can't figure out what.

If I try the separate tab trick in IE 9 a large file starts downloading but nothing displays. I am sure that has something to do with the password issue.

Any ideas?

The username/password in the URL trick should only be used as a last resort. Disabling authentication for video in the camera is far preferable. I have a DCS942L, which is very similar to your 930L. On the Maintenance page, disable http authentication. The video stream will then be anonymously accessible. Don't bother trying to get it working in the dashboard with IE - it will not work - at least with my 942L - just use Chrome or Firefox.

See Russ's post #43 in this thread. That might solve your problem.

Aquamanic,

I tried this, but I guess I don't really know what the @hostname means. I am using port 80 and I have the ip address and can see the feed if I append /video/mjpg.cgi for my camera in chrome. SO after reading post #43 I am not sure what falls under the category of @hostname:port and what is "the rest of the URL"

thanks

I just tried to install the beta version and know my apex is stuck in bootloader mode.
I unplugged the system from the wall socket for about 5 miuntes and still no luck.

Reboot your PC into Safe Mode with Networking
Unplug your Apex from all power
Start the utility loader
Let it timeout once or twice
Plug your Apex back into power

May have to repeat 2 - 3 times before you get it just right

OK, I got it to work in Google chrome. But the site
http://www.reeftronics.net/dashcam

says that the D-Link 930L works in IE9 as well. I cannot get mine to work. Does anyone have any hints?

I suspect that the user who posted that may have made an error. My 942L is basically the same as your 930L plus some extra capabilities, like infrared (nighttime). No matter what I tried, IE9 just did exactly as you described... it started a never-ending download whenever I tried using MJPEG
