was wondering how the big huge frogspawns that were won in the auction are doing mine doesnt look so well

If it is losing tissue, do an iodine dip quickly. If it otherwise just won't expand, don't worry.

Flow can effect them a lot... you may need to try a few different spots until you find a place where they're happy.

That's if the problem is they aren't expanding.

THIS IS REALLY BUMMING ME OUT I WANTED THIS TO BE MY SHOW PIECE I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I WON IT. I DID AN IODINE DIP AND WILL TRY DIFFERENT FLOW. wAS JUST WONDERING HOW THE OTHER TWO HUGE PIECES WERE DOING.

I got a frag off of the one Eddie (Esquare) won. It is opening up more since I turned off one of my powerheads. It is not fully extended. I was reading in one of J. Sprungs books that the Frogspawns and others like it do well in an almost no flow situation.

Hi,

I have had the same Frogspawn for over 5 years & fragged it several times and mine likes very little flow. It opens up the best with just a gentle current to sway the polyps. Why not move it to a low flow part of your tank and see if that helps. They don't need a ton of light either.

I did we will see what happens but it doesnt look very good. I have several other frogs that look great and all my parameters are in check i dont understand why this one doesnt like my tank. Im thinking it took a lot of stress from being out of water at the frag a thon and then the trip home and acclimation to my tank?

on a side note all the other frags i got from the frag a thon look great. especially the acan what a sweet piece cant wait till that grows a little.

Can you post a picture of what your "not well" is.....it could be anything from an annoyed to a sick coral.....We had a frog that took a month to get over being beaten around a few hours, and then the one we got from the meeting the other night had its polyps open before it even hit the tank....so it's possible it just needs time and to be left alone a bit.

Mine is doing ok. I don't think it's fully open yet but has opened some. It's not in super high flow but it is getting waved around a bit. I'll try to post some pics later.

Here's mine.
As you can see, I will be attending Mr. Levenson's photography lecture next meeting.

Jeff, Thank you sir. As with most of the tank, The Salty Critter.

As far as the frags chuggy, I have no idea. I don't even know if mine will make it. Best of luck though.
