Your wishes have now come true

The GHL dimmable power bar has now been fully tested and released for sale!!!

This unit plugs into a 1-10V port and for control and takes its power from any wall socket.

Your ballast then plugs directly into the AC socket on the power bar and you have immediate control over the AC dimmable ballast.

For those who do not (yet) have a Profilux, sorry the unit has been internally engineered only to work with GHL equipment.

if you are looking for a controller just to run this then the GHL profiLux Light II controller will cater for your needs in this respect.

So what ballasts does this control?

Well the power bar can actually control any devise that works on AC dimming this includes pumps (note - we can not test all pumps so it is up to the user to try what works).

In regards to ballasts the ones we have tested are

Philips Advance mark 10's

AC dimming ballasts are also made by Sylvania and others just makes sure the dimming range is 1% to 100%.

One of our dealers is carrying the ballasts right now www.reefconcept.com but others will follow suit.

Set up guideline (Thanks Lorin for testing the devise)

*****T5HO lamp end caps - These must be of the fast strike style, which of course we can supply our dealers with, if you do not use these the lamp will not fire correctly*****

for Advance mark 10 - set the min range of the 1-10V at 1.5V

Dimming curve is most effective from 0-50% this gives you a nice curve, after 50% you gain about 10% more intensity.

There dimmable power bars are on sale right now at www.progressivereef.com

MAP prices is $174.00

So what type of effects will these give? WIll it be the same as the I Bars can give?

Will they be able to simulate cloud coverage?

everything the 1-10V ballasts can do these can in fact they have been reported to have better low range dimming curves.

Glad to see this finally came out. Seeing that there are two outlets on the bar, I presume that two ballasts are controlled per bar. If that's the case, are they controlled independently of one another or dependently? I suspect the latter, but please confirm. Currently planning the lighting for my 240 display. Likely to need 2 of these. Thx.

Hi

They are controlled independantly from each other you have in effect two channels just as you have two channels per L port

Great - that's even better. I'll be picking up two shortly. The plan is to run 4 Advance ballasts each powering 2x54W T5's. My intention is to simulate sunrise/sunset with the T5's. In addition, I'll be using 3x 250W MH's housed in Lumenarc mini slealths. Tank is 72Lx30Wx26H and will be SPS dominated. This reef has been in the works for months now. Lighting was my last hurtle to tackle. Glad to see my Profilux purchase paid off... been dreaming of dimmable T5's for a while! :D

Are the AAG Stucchi brand endcaps (insert pins and twist) that Sfiligoi and ATI and Sunlight Supply and many other T5 fixtures use considered "fast strike?

Thanks,

James

I dont know you will have to talk to those manufacurers I have no access to their parts details.

We do sell fast strike however
