Big news for angelfish fans of RCT

If RCT could get a multifasciatus X venustus, i'd build entire tank around it.

Paracentropyge, I know.

i want him to breed resplendent angel again...:)
i hope he is doing that along with other centropyges..:celeb1:

Very exciting time to be a reefer, more so an angel buff.I would assume you get ''the pick of the litter'' so to speak huh John?

Forget hybrids, I think we would all love just to see a steady stream of captive bred centropyges, even some of the more "commmon" ones.

I am bit confused from the RCT website they say they are not breeding angels yet this topic is called "angelfish fans" and a few get sold to Japan.

will they be available at the facility in Hawaii direct? like Bring Your Own Bucket :D

If ANYONE starts selling captive bred Centropyge or Paracentropyge, I'll be sure to bring MY bucket! LOL

I believe that the RCT website hasn't been updated since 2006. If you look at the news webpage, it discusses what progress they've made over the years (up to 2006).

Rare, Captive-Bred Angelfishes from RCT Direct

January 2010

Reef Culture Technologies will not be selling marine angelfish in 2010.
We are directing our efforts towards the propagation of species from other reef fish families for the year.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

almost 2 years no updates still confused

oh nice update great work on trigger and the cherub I must say, great read as well :fish1:

Oh I really was truly hoping for a Japanese Pygmy, all the wild ones caught are usually huge adults infested with parasites :( (not to mention they are $1500, not a good purchase IMO)

However I am excited because there might be Joculator angels!! :bounce2:

Come on guys... this is a time to be happy as an angelfish fan! Frank's fired back up, and I have some more friends that have successfully bred angelfish that will be available in much greater numbers... they've successfully bred flame angels that should be for sale soon... :) Reminds me of late 2001 when three people indepentantly captively spawned and raised angels within a few months! Let's be happy with what's coming guys!!!

Congrats again to Frank for notching another first on the Centropyge argi... and last week I got these little girsl... welcome to the continental US ladies!:celeb1:
