Big Peacock in San Francisco for sale...

No, not one of mine, but 6th Avenue Aquarium has a large peacock for sale. I haven't seen it, but I am going there tomorrow for lion fish food, and I will check on the size and price.

It seems like someone here in the San Francisco bay Area was looking for one, though their name escapes me at the moment...

Ron,

Check out the rapts. I noticed last week that one of the local wholealers had in several O.s and most were missing one or both rapts.

Will do,Dr. Roy. I am heading out there this afternoon, before I am off to work to serve poison to unsuspecting patrons.

In lighter news, one of my fuzzy dwarf lions tried to make a meal out of a legth of rubber band that had somehow made it into his tank (It had secured a bag of snails that I was aclimating in that tank).

Fluffy (Yes, that is his actual name) looked pretty snazzy with a long green band sticking out of his mouth. He eventually spit it out, btw...

That was JmLee that you were thinking of and he ended up ordering one online.

My fuzzy dwarf's name is gizmo.

I just got home from work all, forgive the lateness of my report...

So, the O. scyllarus is indeed missing one raptoral apendage, the right one. It is gorgeous, however, being a really vibrant green color, about 4", minus the telson and very alert. I couldn't make a positive ID on the sex, but I may try again on Monday, unless someone buys it before that.

The manager is a friend of mine, and I got him to lower the price to 30 bucks from the 45 or so that the owner wanted to charge, partly because he/she is missing the one smasher, and partly because I mentioned that I was going to post on RC. So, if you want the mantis, go M-F, and ask for Coleman, mention that you say it on RC, and it's 30 bucks. If I didn't already have 2 O. scyllarus, I would have snatched this one, but my two are equally gorgeous, and I am at my mantis limit, until I move them into the Condos...
