Big skimmers for big systems

And the numbers are?????????????

drum roll please **********

Dart- 118 W
Alita pump- 69w
______________
Total -187 Watts

Will update pics tomorrow on my thread

Only 69W on the Alita? That is damn good. I'll have to measure mine again. I have a lot of back pressure since I am using stones, so I would guess that it is much closer to the rated wattage.

yup. and it's rated at 120W. With the old wooden stones it actually was runing at 118W but now I have quadrupled the air stone surface, so that number may have dropped. And BTW, still running weeks after being completely filled with SW! I think the key was that I filled it with alcohol, shook it up, and poured it out a couple times.

I've got the orginal spazz skimmer"big ugly" and it's amazing. The efficiency and design are incredible. If you want one of his skimmers you better contact him ASAP as I think he will be a very busy man once more people hear about him.

energy: My LFS just sold a giant deep blue carpet to one of the PSAS members. Vicki has a couple large displays, several nanos, and the "Big Nano".

This large display has the blue carpet lower left. It is not fully open because they didn't have power for a few days right before this pic was taken.

This is a shot of the Big Nano, which has 12 tanks all connected together. Each section has at least one anemone and clowns.

I just got my Ap703 deltec in for my 450, I can't wait to install everything I'm actually starting to shake in my shoes

That seems undersized to me. We have a 902 for our 380, and it will be a close call as to whether it will be enough or not, after taking our intended stocking list into account and adding in the sump/fuge water volume.

That's where the big difference is you need to know each other stocking list.

My bad.. I thought he said 702.. the 703 should handle it just fine... :) I really need to learn to read more closely :)

have you been staring into the halides lately
