Still didn't work. For me anyway.
It dumbfounds me when people put non-reef safe fish in there tanks that have thousands of dollars worth of coral.....why?? There are other reef safe fish you know...
Because some of us want certain fish over certain corals? You know that people like different things, right?
If you are a huge fan of the newest 1 polyp zoo frag that sells for $500/polyp, angelfish are not a great proposition for you. If you have a primarily SPS reef, many angelfish do great.
Personally, I have several different LPS (hammers, torch, elegance), a few different chalices and pipe organ in a tank that used to have an imperator, 3 regal angels, a navarcus, a moorish, and several dwarf angels. I feed heavily and didn't have significant nipping. I can't keep polyps or open brains in there. For me, the tradeoff is/was worth it.
To get back on topic, the largest I've seen was the imperator at waikiki aquarium, which had to be an easy foot in length and very fat.

Here is a picture from over a year ago before I lost everything in the tank in October. The emperor is around 6" in this picture
And here is a pic of the Asfur I had for around 12 years and about 8" it had been stunted a but after being at the LFS for about 2 years before I traded for him
For size reference the maze brain at the bottom of the tank was football sized when I took it out last month
I guess you just need to find the right fish because all my angels that were "reef safe with caution" killed all my sps once they had a taste for it and pick at every type of coral I have all day except the mushrooms. Your right people like different things I'm just upset because I have a lot of problem fish and need to break down a huge system to get them out.
Break down a tank to catch a large angel, was it a 60000 gallon tank or something like this

I have larger tank than average reefer yet I can catch any large angel, tangs, anthias and any fish except sand dwelling wrasse and cleaner wrasse in less than 2 minutes.. I guess noobies will say otherwise.
can I ask you what kind of angel was it ? dwarf?
was its well feed?
I was not a zoa but i don't hate it, thats why i gave a 3000 polyps of rastas. mind-blowing plays, grandis plays, red hornets, PPE, all the craze zoo that my friends gave me because it never excite me . I get fish that excite not the hype or price tag.
Maybe you should see Copps tank and you probably hate it because its full of angel , corals and colorful SPS he obviously don't know what is he doing right?
