Binghamton Aquarium

As an avid lover of the ocean, I have been to a lot of aquariums, Baltimore, Boston, Key West, Las Vegas, and many more, some were better then others, some were just odd (Washington D.C. has a fresh water aquarium in a basement...just a little sketchy) One thing that really disappointment me growing up in Upstate New York is the fact that the only aquarium we have is in Niagra Falls. Having a prestigous college here and a need for tourism I believe a well thought out aquarium could boost the twin tiers economy, I just don't know how to get people together and start working toward it. It's just an idea that has been floating around in my head. My ultimate idea was a hotel where the windows looked into a huge reef tank instead of outside, it's fun to dream.

As someone that grew up there, it is sad to say that it take millions from investors and the Jay Sea is a long way from places people with big money want to invest. Binghamton needs to continue its half attempt at trying to be more like Ithaca in giving students a reason to stay after they graduate and move slowly from there.
That being said, when the zoo had the reef tank, no one not from here cared. People looked at the penguins swimming and went back up stairs.
