Biocube 29/32 gyre settings

Hi Biocube owners!

I am working on dialing in the IceCap 1k gyre I have on my biocube and am struggling to get something that creates flow, but doesn't move my sandbed dramatically. It's not creating sandstorms, but the sandbed opposite side of the tank from the gyre is clean to the glass and it's built up in the center of the tank. I'm using the pulsing program for most of the day with max 30%, 1.5 second change intervals.

What settings are others with these tanks and sandbeds usings?

I had the same issue as well. I found that dropping down to gyre at 20%+ and 10- was good.

Granted, I've only had it for 3 weeks. I pulled the IceCap out today. I was debating between AI Nero 5 or Wavemaker Puck 2. My LFS told be to grab the puck... so I did. So far, I really like it. But I'll give it a week and will see if I will switch back.

This used to happen when I first got my tank running. But, as the tank and sandbed has matured, I've been able to increase the flow on my gyre. You may also try changing the placement of the gyre (lowering or raising it) on the glass.

It will get better as the tank matures. My 32cube w/ 1k gyre was so powerful at 1st but I only turned it up to 10 im the beginning. Now I can go as high as I want even after cleaning it. The gap growing on one side also helps disperse the current
