Hey guys, im just curious, if any of you have had a Oceanic BioCube before and had successful corals and such grow in them? Im still trying to get my camera to work, and once i download the pics ill post them .

While I haven't had a biocube, it can be a viable reef tank. Maybe not the "to die for" sps tank (because of lower intensity lighting), but viable none the less.

Smaller tanks can go wrong more quickly because of less water volume, but done right, one can be successful with them.

Depends what you wanna keep. Keep bio load low

The bigger the tank the more room for error. The smaller the less. Me having a smaller tank myself I find more challenging/fun

I ran a successful BioCube tank for a while. The stock lighting isn't going to keep much besides softies and some simple LPS, maybe. Even then the colors won't be great. If you like the form factor of a BioCube, you can always upgrade the lighting. nanotuners offers a bunch of in-hood upgrades, but I'd imaging most of tehse (besides the LED ones) would result in the need for a chiller. Another option os to remove the hood and use another light. I have a Nove Extreme Pro on mine currently. Many people also change out the filtration on these tanks. I removed all the BioBalls and put an inTank media rack in mine. Nano-Reef.com has a lot of info on running nanos. Caesars has a nic BioCube as well, which currently has a Kessil light (LED) over it. It used to run stock lighting, and looked great then too.

I've seen many beautiful 29g bio cubes over the years. Even with the stock power compact lighting. But you just have to know your limitations. Very few fish, Lots of surface movement to gas off CO2. there is even a 29 HQI version which can grow SPS. But I modified mine with a Kessil A150w LED. and it is beautiful, with little modification to the filter system. Water changes every two weeks. B-ionic and thats it.
Here is a video featuring the tank.

Thanks you guys ive looked at that video and I think I'm going to have to drive down to Caesars and check out that biocube and that kessil. My biggest problem right now is none of.my corals seem to be very happy and my water is.perfect. so I'm thinking it has to be the light
