@Erivera

Hi, I just bought a Coralife BioCube 29...and am curious your lighting arrangement. Is that just the stock 10k and Actinic or did you add LED modules? If you added, what modules?

Thanks,

Jason

Hey what's up? I am using the stock lighting currently. I believe the Coralife biocube 29 comes with one blue moonlight LED strip, I added two of the cool white LED light bars. I filmed that video I posted with the one moonlight strip and two white LED bars on only. I can manually turn them on and off with the switches. My power compacts are on timers. The only good thing about the biocube LEDs is that they add that shimmering appearance, other than that they will not raise the par readings.

Here is a pic of my mature (6 year old BC29). This pic was takem in June when I made the change from metal halide to LEDs. Let me say, I'm glad I made the switch. Everything runs cooler and the colors are great. Coral growth is amazing for my acros.

Basser, awesome tank! I remember following yours back when I had my Biocube! What LED fixture do you have and do you still have your original BSJ? I just setup a Nuvo 16 with an AI Nano. My thread is over on the other site ;)

Basser, looks great! +1 on what LED's you went with? I'm getting ready to switch from the stock light to something else, leaning towards LED. I'll post a photo of my tank tomorrow, she's a beaut!

Hey good to hear from you.

My tank has changed quite a bit from a couple of years ago when I had a tank crash due to a heater exploding. I lost almost everything, including my BSJF, talk about a sick feeling! The only fish that survived was my pair of picassos.

I saw your thread on that other site, btw. Lookin' good!

I went with a retro-fit LED set-up in my BC29 hood, by Nano-Box Reef made by Dave Fason. He did a great job and I sent him my hood and he installed everything for me and did it for free! The led's consists of 2 clusters of 13 leds and each consists of the following colors:

3 CW, 2 NW, 5 RB Rebel ES, 2 Blue, and 1 Deep Red

Dave is a good guy to work with and will do any customization you want.

What did that cost you? Sounds expensive.

I think it was less than $400. Not bad when you consider what an AI or a Radion would cost. Plus this will have full functionality with a controller with all settings available. Plus the fact Dave did the retro for free.

When it comes to DIY, I'm all thumbs!! :crazy1:
