Spotted this guy while driving a country road this weekend. He was feasting on a pile of waste from a recent hog slaughter at a local farm.

Awesome!

Wouldn't have counted for this contest - but my son and I were coming home from hockey practice and caught this hooter our driveway (this was last year). To get an idea on its size - that's a possum under its claws.

that's either a very large owl or a very small possum! cool to see that. the only "dead" possums i see are the ones my dane boy brings me. strange, after he drops them and walks away, they seem to come back to life. LOL

that's either a very large owl or a very small possum! cool to see that. the only "dead" possums i see are the ones my dane boy brings me.

If need be, I'll start posting some of my Shepherd's kills...I got a few on video too.

So far - 13 groundhogs, 2 racoons (both at once), a possum, and a chipmunk.

my dog's better 'n your dog. he's killed the same possum probably 27 times now. once, he even brought it in the house (damn dog door). see, he pounces on it and immediately the possum, well, plays possum. no fun once it's "dead" so bentley drops it and walks away. go outside 30 minutes later, possum is gone. it lives under the barn in the pen where my pot bellied pigs are. my dog's not the sharpest tool in the shed. *sigh*

These weekly topic threads aspire to motivate picking up one's camera and shooting something with intent, versus wading through one's catalog of existing images and finding something which fits the topic.

And thus there tend to be additional images posted after a winner is announced.
