birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

Thanks geraud. You in city?? I will look at that acrylic care. After plumbing and extention built I will focus on design. All we have is a floor plan that keeps changing. I'm blowing foundation walls out and making all sorts of changes as we go.

Hi Andrew, I am in the city, and as such my tank is about, hum, 1/1000 of your build.

I would be really interesting in reading more about the overall design. I am sure there are a few out there who are wondering "will it work or should I build a new house?" when considering these very large tanks.

ps: and as many here, I am "in the industry" ;-)

Interesting. Hedge fund? Ya well I'm still trying to figure this mega tank stuff out. Starts first with moving out of city. Lol. I remember my ro flooded my old apartment in middle of night and ran down 2 floors damage. That was last time I dealt with city apartments.

I am in a "proprietary trading" firm. We trade equities, but I am in the technical part, aka developing tools for our traders.

I know what you mean about apartments... my fear has always been to find the whole place burnt to the ground from an electrical accident. The Apex helps me sleep better (with the leak detectors), but one of my first weeks with the tank, we were coming back home to "hey there are some firemen in the streets" "oh wow, they are in front of our building" "oh wow they are coming out of our building entrance".

It was only some idiot who had decided to grill something on his balcony and the alarms went on like that, but still, my heart did race :)

On a side note, I was at the Morgan library today, and I could not help notice that his study would have benefited from a nice tank in the corner!

I took my adult emperor that I raised from juvy out of tank today!! Man they get mean!! Bullied everyone. The old clam in the trap trick worked in bout half hour. Hes in my small refugium and he is so ****ed. That is one nasty fish as they get big.

Guys there's not much more I can do now. Tank is literally boarded up with wood crate around it to preserve it while it dries. Its 80 degrees down there and nothing to see but osb wood that goes from floor to ceiling. When we start the rockwork I will take pics.

My other hobby. It doesn't rtn!

For some of us *that* hobby was more expensive than this hobby. Was being the key word!

Still have my outlets a group of us had frozen in liquid nitrogen by NASA...

On the rigged market?
I watched it this afternoon and although we've never met. you're the only Hedge fund guy I've ever had contact with and I immediately thought of you.

Your profession admittedly intrigues me. always has, Wall St. period has well"¦ever since the movie "Wall Street"
watched "The Wolf" last night and really enjoyed it.
enough of the thread hijack though.

what are the electronics?

I will say in the end nature makes the best looking "things" but man, high end audio gear done right can really turn my crank.
