Btw I have found an old mh bulb that I'm just in love with to display these clams and they are doing great. I have found that you need plenty of par and white light as well as blue for these. I had ushio 14k in there and they responded great but I can't stand the bulb. So now they are under old aquaconnect 400 w hqi bulb 14k. Wow. I'm going back to this bulb in other tanks. So much more natural than radiums I think and it has the violet that radium misses. I'm trying to get these from Germany now. Will see.

The old Aquaconnect was an awesome bulb. It was on the pricier side, I believe around $120-$140, but the color was outstanding. I hope they start carrying it in the US again.

Thx garias. Just to update people on project. There is some problem in the sand soil that is requiring us to change plans in sub basement as chimney underpinning is an issye due to soft sand. New plans for shape and shift in the sub basement are being worked up now including fish tank equipment layout

Can you get the old aqua connects? Or do you have to buy the new Neuco's 14k's by coralvue? I bought these in 250w. Definitly a nice bright white bulb. Not as yellow as the Ushio 14k (400w)

Do you plan to get the Nueco 14k 400w next?

Ptreef. We trying to get direct from Germany. Those nueco bulbs I have and they are not the same!!! Just not as pleesing to eye. But yes bright. And bluer than ushio 14k.

Nice! Big one in the middle (sort of) looks like a Gigas. Impossible to get now.

A very nice setup in progress! It would be nice if you had enough time at some point to write something like an article to explain what was the design process.

With regards to the care of acrylic in such a large tank, have you read the articles about it in the "Drum and Croaker" online magazine? (it is written by folks from the public aquariums world). In their most recent issue there was something about buffing acrylic.
