I was just watching Andrew Zimmern, FoodNetwork's Bizzare Foods guy.Andrew was in Samoa, snorkeling among hundreds of Gigas clams. Some were over three feet across. Beautiful colors, especially in HD. Then, Andrew and his snorkeling guide harvest a smallish, 18 inch Gigas. They then proceed to eat it raw. Pass the drawn butter and lemon! Yummmmm.
