ROTFLMAO! Poodles! You wouldn't frag them, you'd clip them! :).

Yeah, the pricing and naming is outrageous, and if you step back and look at the pricing of items from a non addicted reef fanatic point of view... well...

Don't get me started on the price of fish!

And did you see that BRS video that if that some kind of law passes, you'd have to destroy everything in your tank? Seriously? Makes no sense, destroy habitat and then destroy the micro systems that may still have some?

Hahaha who would enforce that... National Reef Police? We don't have enough tax dollars to do much anymore let alone spending money to ensure no one has an aquarium anymore..

What happens is a Black Market is created and no more tax dollars from the reef shops. Yet more businesses shutting down, that helps the economy...What a bunch of turds.. we need to get this country in shape first before we dump money into laws on reef tanks..

There is a lot of propaganda going around about those laws...a lot of misinformation. Pretty sure no one is going to force anyone to dump their reef tanks out on their lawn. Or force me to stop culturing. ;)

Fungia aren't cultured. In the first post here, the OP was complaining about fungia price and said something about a 1 inch frag. Who sells cultured fungia? Besides the few people who have dead skeletons that spit out babies? Didn't know any were named...

Anyway, point is...a coral doesn't have to be cultured to be a silly price...and the prices really wouldn't stay that way if so many people weren't willing to pay them. In fact, sometimes I think reefers like to spend hundreds on a frag just so they can say they spent hundreds on a frag...like bragging rights, I guess?

Let it go Marc. The reefing world we once knew, is no longer present.

Here is how I spend my mornings reefing on the weekends now :)

I think the lyrics to John Lennon's Watching the Wheels fits:

"I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the Merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go"

Of course, I have one tank that would take min. effort to convert back into a saltwater, just in case the insanity returns...

Well, bad news is I hung my new LEDs and damn....the tank looks great. Worser news is that my Daniels LE Toxic Poodle did an RTN overnight and is now floating.

I just grabbed the Fungia name out of the air after seeing one exactly like my old one selling for $175...and yes I also had an orange one that was budding daughter colonies.

More worser news is that without realizing it, my tank seems to be hosting mostly named corals. But, I didn't pay for most of them, and if I did it was a smoking price.

I will most likely jump on the bus with a frag tank, but I am going to name my coral stuff like Ishmael, Reginald, ABBA, and I thought it would be funny, but a bit inappropriate to name a coral Butt-Crack, and hopefully one day would hear someone walk into Your Reef and ask John, "hey, can I get 2" of your butt-crack".

I hear the lineage part, as the coral gets further away from the ocean it, like any animal, will slowly adapt and should be much hardier after generations to our stupidity.

But DAMN, my tank looks amazing under LEDs.
