Black and white clown

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice, so I have 3 clowns in my tank, one large orange ocelaris, and 2 black and white ocelaris clowns, the larger of the 2 black and whites has paired up with the large orange, they are hosting a small torch coral (lol).

the problem is with the other black and white clown, it doesn't get "picked on" by the other 2 at all, he did get chased away a little but nothing too serious, it has just in the last couple of days started hosting a crispa anemone, but since he started hosting it, he has stopped eating, the only thing I haven't done is actually put food right in front of it because he used to just swim around and chase the food if you know what I mean, is there something I should do? Should I be worried?

I would remove the 3rd clown as once the other 2 are paired up they will kill the other one.

But i would try to put food in his area so that he gets fed, most likely he is scared to go out searching for food.

They've been like this for a few months now though, no aggression has been shown between any of them, they just went their own way and stayed like it, I will keep a very close eye on them though, will try putting food right near it and see what happens, thanks

That isn't a crispa anemone it's a Green Bubble Tip, but you should get the third wheel out of the tank as was mentioned it will end up dead

One other thing the anemone is the Host not the clownfish

Ok, I'll get the clown out, the anemone was sold to me as a crispa, from looking at photos and reading what some others have it looked like one to me too, doesn't really matter what it is, it's healthy, thanks for all the advice guys (and corrections)

You are better off with a GBTA IMO But trust me, that's not a crispa it is a GBTA. Crispa's have a bad sting and will eat fish GBTA's won't and have the lesser of stings out of all anemones

Crispa's usually are pretty cheap compared to GBTA, what did you pay for it?

Crispa or AKA Sebae anemone

Here in Australia, I paid $60 but prices from shop to shop can vary quite a lot here, if it helps it has a purple base

that's a pic the day after I got it, I don't have a pic of the base, it's tips/tentacles had no sort of swelled areas, they were pretty straight and smooth, that's why I thought crispa, but seeing as the clown seems to be ok apart from not eating it indeed must be a bta, I should also mention that all three clowns used to hang out in a cataphylia together without any problem, but I took that out last week as it was too large for my tank https://vimeo.com/140720050 no signs of aggression from what I can tell

Yes many are straight but yours is bubbled in the picture you posted above

Those clowns in that cataphylia are having a blast and what a great looking cataphylia, yours is the first that I have seen that's awesome!

Thank you, here's a pic of it in the middle of my light cycle

it got a little too big for my tank, its tentacles started to latch on to other corals in there, so I gave it to a good friend of mine

I've seen elegance corals before but none like yours Thanks for sharing the pictures, yes it is a tad bit large for that tank

No problems, yeah my tank is a little small, but is all I have room for at the moment, bigger tank is sort of in the works ;) on another great note, the clown in question is back to eating, I didn't take it out last night because it was a bit late, I thought I'd do it now as I just got home from work, all the fish were front and centre as I stepped to the front of the tank, put some food in there and he smashed it, so a sigh of relief there, I will be keeping a very close eye on the relationships between the three though, if there's any sign of the "third wheel" being bullied or picked on, out it will definatly come, maybe I can use that as an argument for a larger (very much larger) tank ;) thanks again for all the advice guys, very much appreciated :D

It will have to be a very large tank in order to keep more than a pair of clowns. Best is just to setup a seperate tank for the 3rd one and get him a mate.

Glad its eating again though

Yeah, so it seems, I was never sure what it was exactly, but I am now :) I have a smaller tank, I'll put the clown in there, thanks again everyone
