black aragonite

I am just setting up a new reef and i was wondering if anybody is using black aragonite and if you have any idea about pros/cons

I would think twice about it, but only because I know I couldn't handle seeing all the detrius that has collected. Everything stands out against the black.

I don't even think black aragonite is possible... Sounds like marketing nonsense to me. Who is claiming this? One big con with black sand is that every sandbed I've ever seen set up with it looked like hell within 6 months.

Peter, you are probably right. when i think about it , you don't see too often in real life black sand in the actual reef..
