Black clowns getting too mean

well after getting rid of a pair of naroon clowns that were spawning beacuse they were way too mean. i was going to put my black and white clowns from my nano into my bigger tank. now they are so mean im not sure i want to put thm in the tank. they never were this mean up until recently. they are not spawning yet so i know thats not the reason. should i just say screw it and leave them in the 24g aquapod or do you think they will be abit better if i put them into my 58g reef tank? like will being in a bigger tank settle them down abit?

if you dont have any other fish in your aquapod i wouldnt worry about it. if you put them in the bigger tank they will probably only be aggressive in there territory but im not an expert so lets hear other people

i am pretty sure if i put them in my bigger tank they will still end up being mean and that will not work out. but i want to hear some others on this subject.

Aw come on they aren't that bad Mine are pretty decent with my other tank mates. They bite the crap out of me though..

I've got two pairs + 1 single black ocellaris and none of them are at all mean. They'll eat out of my hands and I can mess around in their tanks with no problems. I have far more of a problem with my orange ocellaris pairs...two out of three of the pairs are vicious and will draw blood! :eek1:

Its not gonna settle them down , especially if the rule unchallenged. If your reef has got a few fish with cajones you should be fine. Bangi Cardinals rabbit fish royalgramma's blennys all not easily pushed around should keep them from getting too mean or in reality to large of a territory .

Same goes for my pair for the most part. They leave the flameback, sixline, and royal gramma alone but when I added a watchman goby a couple of months ago the male dragged him and fed him to my BTA right when I dropped the goby into the tank.

my B&W ocellaris clowns are jus so darn mean it is unreal. they are just as mean as the gold stripe maroons i just got rid of for this reason. when i first got them they were great and i never had a problem. but now after awhile of having them they started getting mean and attcking my green clown goby to the point were it is not eating! they also attack my coral banded shrimp, wich is crazy to see them biting it with the shrimp try to defend itself but running at the same time :lol:

just wanted to know if i put them into my big tank if they would settle down or not. i had a feeling they would stay this way.

You could be right OrionN. Saddlebacks are much more aggressive.

They may settle down for a little while in the big tank, but once they establish their territory, they'll be right back to their agressive selves.

I have 37 Spawning pairs of clowns.I have over 5000 Fish in grow out.I do not own any Amphiprion polymnus aka Saddleback.Original description Perca polymnus by Linnaeus in 1758..Who's distribution is Indo-Malayan Archipelago Also reported in the northern territory of Australia.Not to be confused with My pair of B&W Ocellaris..

Saddle backs have a whole different kind if teeth then Ocellaris. If it is a big saddle like mine, ouch! however I find my pair to be fairly timid, and shy when my hands are in the tank.
