I want to get a black cuke for my tank, but I am afraid that my carpet will suck him up and ruin my tank. Has anyone else had one?

I'd like to hear a response as well. I just saw an awesome purple cuke at my lfs, but was unsure as well if it would be ok with my white carpet

IME, cucumbers don't seem to set off the anemone's stinging mechanism for some reason. I have cucumbers that will lay under my haddoni all the time. This haddoni eats everything else in the tank; hermits, snails, fish, shrimp, whatever it touches, except the cucumbers.

If the purple cuke was a sea apple, I would leave it at the LFS. They are difficult to feed and can poison your tank.

Definately not a sea apple, but like you I was curious, but this thing was exactly shaped and moved like a common cuke. But such awesome colors. My Lfs got 3 in, one he's keeping in his display tank which houses a monstrous eating machine...a huge yellow carpet.

funny enough, my LTA stung my black cuke until it was all blotchy and developed infections around the stung sites then shortly there after passed away, unfortunately. But my new yellow cuke is the same as the previous two posts, pretty much lives under the LTA and has no proablems what so ever. It's been a good 6 months now.
