black dots on my yellow tang?

ive had my yellow tang for awhile now.. and before i saw some black dots.. i didnt think it was anything, until there were a lot more now?? any ideas what they might be?

google black ick, black spot disease, or paravortex. they're all the same thing and see if that is what your tang has. if so, it's a worm, you'll have to FW dip and keep him out of the tank as these things have quite the life cycle.

do they disappear only to return in a greater number?

they didnt disappear, it just started growing more..

should have asked if you FW dipped the fish and the spots disappeared (fell off) only to return.
