Ok I bought my regular false perc this black one to replaced her mate from a suicidal jump out the tank. I've had the black one for a week now and they have gotten along and are inseperatable. he was eating fine up to the point I found him like this. He just sits on the sandbed upright and just flaps his fins and no rapid gill movement. And he has no visual signs of disease. Also full coloration he looks healthy. What could be going on. When I placed my hand under him and guide him back up to the top of the tank he'll swim out then dart to the sandbed.

My female black occy did the exact same thing one day. She just acted like she was going to die, but I gave her the day to try and live the last part of her life with her mate and miraculously she bounced back. Everything probably gets a minor illness every once in a while. It's like when a person gets the flu -- they don't want to move around a lot (like your clownfish) and if you drag them from their spot where they're sleeping they'll go right back and do the same thing (like your clownfish). :)
