Black perculas

I recently purchased two small black perculas from my LFS. I have them together and they seem to getting along well. Occasionally, the bigger of the two will chase the other one for just a few seconds. The one that was chased will then "spasm" in place for about a second, then just act normally. I was wondering if this is characteristic of clowns or do I need to worry about the smaller one?

This is a normal thing that clowns do when they're working out dominance.

The biggest one is usually the female and the most dominant of the pair and reminds the little one (the male) when she thinks he needs it. He spasms as a submissive signal. Kind of like a dog rolling on their backs as a submissive behavior.

I was happy to know about this before we saw it, otherwise, I would have freaked out thinking my clown was having a seizure!

Enjoy the clowns!

hey...thanks for explaining that...i'm very relieved knowing that they are okay...thanks again..
