Black Photons coming!

Getting a pair of black photons in the mail this Wednesday. Excited to see how they go. Going to do a water change today in preparation.

The tank has zero other fish, a scarlet cleaner shrimp, and a bunch of trochus. (hundreds to maybe a thousand I'd say at this point, those babies are just coming like crazy).

The tank has been around for at least 23 months now, so it should be good. I've let the light off for the past 6 - 9 months, but it's gotten some natural sunlight to keep the algae growing for the snails.

Should be fun. Maybe I'll forgo the corals and just go with a nem and some clownfish.

I have a pair and really like them. They appear very hardy and eat well. I haven't tried a nem with them yet though. They have xenia and frogspawn but show no interest.

Yes, mine came from DD. I was kinda hoping they wouldn't have so many of them, but they seem to have a new pair every other day or so.

I don't think that's ich on yours. It may be fungal, or it may simply be that the fish is rubbing up against the glass too much. Feed it well and keep a close eye on it.

My picassos got this when they sorta squared off a bit. It was just sorta like scrapes from them jawwing.

Healed up no problem, but you may consider doing a dip to make sure it doesnt get infected.

I agree it was from pairing process. They lock lips like cichlids do.
Just keep an eye on secondary infections.

shouldn't the little one (male) also be sort of scarred up? from what I understood, they have been paired for a good enough time already. She came out of the shipping bag like that. Or perhaps from other clowns she was with...

Well it's good that it's not some uncurable ailment at least =) thanks for your responses....

now I have to find a really awesome nem for them to smash themselves into.

Saw them on DD, nice looking pair. Never ordered there before, but people seem to be happy with DD.

I never get tired of looking at these guys. They are so pretty. Great job Sanjay ! They remind me of my favorite holiday ...... Halloween.
