Black tang!!

I bought a Black Tang this week. He's awesome! I love the long nose compared to a yellow tang.

I'd try to get pics but he hides too much. Do tangs eventually swim around the tank a lot when humans are around?

Thats a mighty expensive fish to buy without researching it first. Good luck and congrats on the new fish. I have 3 tangs and all 3 love the camera, give him some time.

ps...

pics are going to be necessary or were just going to assume this mythical camera shy black tang is in that little imaginary aquarium in your head.....

Trust me, if I were going to lie, I'd say I have a pair of gem tangs, lol.

This fish cost me $650. I wish I could have gotten it cheaper, but he is a beautiful specimen.

what size is your tank and what tank mates do you have in it . I'm not a tang guy but the black tangs are pretty cool as i mat purchase one for algae control .nice catch dude !

I think Id need a whole bottle of quervo followed by a whole bottle of tums to spend that much on a fish. Cant wait for the pictures!

I'm surprised I was able to spend this much on the fish, heh. I'm a poor graduate student. Here's the best pic I could get. He's too quick and afraid of humans.

Cool. He'll probably do fine. I buy pre-cut little nori flakes. It's the only nori my tangs seem to like. It floats around like other fish food.

They are shy at first, but they'll come around. My LFS had a few in his coral tanks over the last year, and they hid for a few weeks before they started to come out regularly.

Train it with some food, dump the food in the front a few times a day, eventually whenever someone comes in the room they will come right out thinking it's dinnertime.

It's a beautiful fish and I wish you luck with it.
