Nice! i would love a black tang but unfortunately not enough room in my tanks.

Black tang died...2 days after my guarantee was up

Was a horrible ich infection. The day I brought him home, I noticed 3 spots on him. It got progressively worse and I quarantined him and tried to treat with both hypo and cupramine. He just kept getting worse. Near the end, he looked like a gem tang with all the spots, but WORSE.

I'm bummed out.

Sorry for your loss man, I had a $50 wrasse carpet surf after a couple months. (knew it was coming when I thought "I should probably cover the top this weekend.") I couldn't imagine losing a $650 fish in less than a month.

Bummer about your loss, but if you noticed three ich spots on him when you brought him home why wouldn't you notify the seller immediately or return him to the LFS if you bought locally? At the very least why no QT tank?

idk about tangs or anything... but sometimes with hardier fish you can play the "feed lots and wait for him to stop stressing from the move" game and ich will eventually subside. or at least Ive done that in the past. probably wouldnt try it with a tang, let alone a black tang. sorry for your loss though i get ****ed when i lose a $20 diamond goby from carpet surfing let alone a $600 tang lol

I notified the seller immediately. I placed him into QT tank, as I stated earlier. I treated with hypo and cupramine, with no luck.
