Wanting to add a Black Tang to the mix of Purple-Yellow-PB-Hippo in a 300g reef.
My only concern is existing Purple Tang.
Does anyone have experience keeping both, one introduce later?
Advice is greatly appreciated...

with purple and yellow out there that guy will find it hard...if your black tang is similar or smaller in size,be prepared for the worst..

I don't think it would be that much of a problem. In a 300 gallon tank, I would imagine 3 tangs might have some spats if they're the same genus but it's not instant doom. I have seen tanks between 180 and 360 that have plenty of tangs and they're completely fine. People on this site are a bit exaggerated and make it seem like if you have a single tang in anything less than 450 gallons then you are cruel.

if u get a bigger blacktang u will be fine theres enough room in your tank for everyone

A 300g should be large enough, but it is always a gamble with the Zebrasoma species as sometimes individual fish can be a real terror. Even if they are fine for a period of time, there is the probability that they will "turn" on each other with time.

How do your existing Zebrasoma get along? Do you have a backup plan in place?

My plan is to try catch the Purple & PB and keep them in my sump for couple weeks, and then introduce all at the same time.
I know catching them will be a challenge...
