Does anyone here run a backup battery system on thier tank for blackouts? I was looking into getting something due to talk about rolling blackouts again this summer. Last year my tank was down for about 4 hours...........

a battery system has to be pretty big to keep up with a tank.. i bought a gas powered one but it was soo loud i returned it...

I just keep a powerhead running on a backup battery -- at 9w and a 650 UPS, the powerhead will run for oh, at least 10 hours. And at that level, a UPS in under $100.

I have my main pump on a 1000VA one. It has keep it running for an hour already the last time power went out.

Your computer UPS can run a simplel aerator for a significant period of time. There are also battery powered ones in the fishing department of major discount stores: they're used for bait buckets.

And if absolutely all else fails, a squeeze bulb on an airstone line: I kept 3 tanks worth of fish alive by the hand method on a 3 day drive between Maryland and Oklahoma. I never want to do that again, but they got there alive.
