Hi, I've had my gbta for about a year now, and after it split, it turned and stayed a light brown color. i thought it would turn back to green again, but both of them (the original and the clone) are still the same light brown color. are they bleached?
it looks healthy tho, ie the mouths are always tightly closed and i feed it every week. any way to get the green color back?

May just need time.Ive heard of this happening but the color is normaly back within just a couple months.

A good question is what is your lighting, and was the split stress induced from lack of light. I have never had an GBTA of RBTA turn brown after splitting. It could be something as easy as old bulbs, but more information would help and a pic.

i have a t5 light fixture. 4x39w bulbs, 2 white and 2 actinics. i just replaced the actinics 2 months ago, and i'll be replace the white ones this weekend. they are about a year old.
i'm thinking the GBTA splitting couldve been my light... i had turned my lights off for 2-3 days to try to get rid of my cyano at the time (now i know i shouldve just turned off my white lights...) but after i turned the lights back on, it began to split. plus my gbta was huge...at least 11-12" across.
now, the biggest one, about 7" sits on the highest position of my rockwork with its tentacles always facing the light. does this sound like it needs more light? and the little one, about 4" sits below it but still nothing blocking it from the light.
i'll change out my white bulbs this weekend and feed them more often.
when do you know to change out the bulbs?
i try posting a picture soon
