Bleached carpet

So I received a gift today.... Super bleached carpet nem. S haddoni I believe. Was told it used to be neon green.

So mouth is open. Nem is white. Have it in my tank now penned in by some shells. Any thoughts on reviving her?

Good flow going across her. Good light. She's not super enclosed so if it wants to move it should be able to.

As little light as poss at beginning and slowly increase with time, too much light for a bleached nem will just kill it quicker

Also, Haddoni like low flow. If the edges are getting blown up too much you may wanna make a rock wall to block the flow.

When I recovered one like yours, it took well to being fed half a (thawed) frozen scallop every other day, as well as catching the mysis I fed to the fish. Mine was about 8-10 inches across.

Tried to feed very small piece of silverside.... Pep shrimp stole it. Bastard

Keep a very close eye on the pep shrimp. Haven't had issues with them and healthy S. haddonis, but have seen them go after stressed/damaged ones.

Think this Nem is on way out. Still sticky but super bleached. It's been in the tank two days now and hasn't attached to anything. Mouth is open.

How long should it be before it gets better if it's gonna get better?

Hi Jack, when I rescued my carpet, I was given a small bag of frozen food it was being fed. Not really paying this any mind I tried to feed it other stuff and it woud not hold onto it. I took out the frozen I was given and sure enough it eat it eagerly. In reading other threads I realized it may not have been fed other things so it was just use to the frozen krill. I have started to feed different things at the same time I feed the krill so he will reconize it as food. I am hoping this will work. Looking forward to meeting you again.

like i think i mentioned earlier i was told it used to be neon green. hoping it makes a comeback. dont want to mess with it but i dont think the foot is attached to anything.

At this point I would be more concerned about the mouth. It is always open like that, or does it get smaller/wider?

havent seen much movement out of the mouth. open all the time. cant say i have been staring at it to see any changes though

I have a thread currently active on this so my method is tried and true...

With proper lighting, perfect water parameters, HAND FEED EVERY 2-3 DAYS A PIECE OF SHRIMP, in a few weeks youll notice significant difference in color.
