Blennies

Do they tend to fight? The place I purchase fish from in Chicago are adamant about this, that blennies will not coexist very well unless the tank is large.

They tend to be pretty easy-going, concentrating on their own business---if they're the mostly algae suckers, which I think are the comb-tooth blennies.

There are, however, the fanged blennies, which I think are a bit more bitey.

Main thing with a blenny is don't put competitors in with him, and don't put in things that have the same shape and style---he'll notice that and may take exception to it.

The lawnmower blenny is good-dispositioned. His only fault is a little disposition to nip clam mantles and some sps polyps, so I understand, but on the latter question I can say I had one with lps corals and had no problems.

.... that blennies will not coexist very well unless the tank is large.

Same or similar species will fight as they see grasing ground and holes for hidding as the limiting factor.

I have a bicolor blenny and a midas blenny and I can tell you that those to blennys are peacefull. I haven't put two blennys in the same tank though.

Speaking of blenny aggresion, I got a question.
My cousin has a 30 gal. with some 2 bangai cardinals and a mandarin dragonet. He was thinking of getting a molly miller blenny.

Is it likely that the blenny would be aggresive towards the dragonet?

Two lawnmower blennies in same tank, 160 gal, did NOT work, my dragon and blenny have no problems together. You must have a nice established tank if you dragon is doing good.

I have a large midas and a small bicolor. They usually get along but every once in a while the midas will just go nuts chasing the bi.

I have beautiful midas that I have had for about 4-5 months now. It was great in my display. Did very well with all tank mates...

... of course, it's been in my overflow since about week two.

I hope to recover him when I up grade to a 120 next month :)
