I did not get any traction on another forum title, so I brought this to the reefer discussion. Hopefully between the two I can get some good information to help me make a choice.

Looking for a small comb tooth type of blenny for a 30 gallon reef.

Anyone have luck with any of the below?

1. Blue & Gold Blenny (Ecsenius lividanalis)

2. Horned Blenny (Hypsoblennius exstochilus)

3. Bicolor Blenny (Ecsenius bicolor)

4. Caribbean Sailfin Blenny (Emblemaria pandionis)

I currently have the Black Sailfin Blenny (Atrosalarias fuscus) and Tail Spot Blenny (Ecsenius stigmatura) in a 90 mixed reef, but very few SPS. Havn't noticed any real detrimental damage, but they do from time to time pass by and peck. I am quite certain they are eating film algae that may reside on the coral. I am looking for something other than the two I currently have, which i why I listed four that I am looking at.

Which is the best, or safest one from your experiences?

Rumor has it that the sail fin and bi colors can nip. I think the horned Blennys are cool so I would go that route.

Just do a search for each, "Bi color reef safe" ect

I have had a few comb-toothed blennies and all but one either nipped right away or eventually became coral nippers. Not on your list but seems that most people have good luck with Midas in reefs.
