Blind Banggai Cardnalfish

I've had my Banggai for almost 1.5 years got him large due to aggressive flame hawk which no longer have. He was a very difficult fish in the beginning getting him to eat. After nearly starving for months I tried blood worms and fresh plankton which he started eating. If the plankton is a day old forget it he spits it out. Anyway back in October last year I notice he wasn't pigging out like usual. It got worst and today I have to get the turkey baster to feed him. Its a hit or miss some days he just doesn't eat. Is there anything I can do to help him? Is blindness a permanent condition? He responds when I approach the tank so I know he must be able to see some.

(S)He may just be old. Banggais don't get very old and since you already bought it large it may have been of advanced age to begin with.

I don't know why yours is picky with food. My 3 pairs are the first out at feedings and very aggressive eaters. They even chase other fish (damsels, dottybacks and angels) away so they can eat more. I mostly feed Mysis but they go after everything that hits the water. During feedings they kind of behave like you would expect it from piranhas...

So far she eats every other day when I feed frozen food. She gulps down what hits her face or side. Still losing weight though do I just let nature slowly take its course?
