Last night after a few cold ones, I finally grew the cajones to perch over my tank to drill the ceiling and install the anchors to hang this 150w MH pendant I've had sitting around for ages.
Tacky worklight on wall, begone!

I think it looks like you need a bigger tank with lots of SPS now.

It's one of the ghetto-chino fishneedit MHs, very similar to the Aquamedics. I had it sitting around from a 60g planted cube that never materialized...
But yeah, the ballast takes up two area codes and weighs a metric ton.

I'd just love to get rid of the big ugly xenia, but Steph loves the "little hands" and won't let me get rid of the thing... grrr Maybe it will have a "little accident" with the garbage disposal, I mean "powerhead" when she's not home, mwahaha.

The light also looks great! I love having my light suspended from the ceiling. Was a pain to put up though!

I don't think I have ever seen your tank-- Nice........ for a non-sps tank. Oh, and nice fixture too.

Well, the AquaMedics overdrive the heck out of bulbs, so adjust your height/photoperiod accordingly...

Yeah, I drilled some small holes so the extra airplane wire goes into the ceiling... so height is fully adjustable, but without the little "mickey mouse ears" of coiled wire you sometimes see. It's @ about 8" from surface and so far so good.
