Drywall Ceiling Toggle bolt butterfly

I have assumed from the beginning that you are going to use more than one of these bolts. They are rated way beyond what your are asking. I don't think anything beyond that can be promised considering you're the one that has to do the job correctly.

Actually it says 1/2 inch drywall tension rating is 74lbs, my light is 14 pounds and assuming tension is downward force…does 14 pounds hanging 2 anchors split the weight by 2?

Shear is wall, tension is ceiling.

Yes, if they are equallly distributed then the force is equally divided.

Yes. The thickness of the sheetrock is the determining factor but even 1/2" sheetrock will hold it.

Want to be extra sure?
Use a board above the hole to hold the screw.
This increases the surface area holding the weight.

I just realize the ecotech rms rail you can move the piece on the rail left or right so I can screw into the joists 4inches away
