Bloke's 210g In-Wall

Be careful using partcail board in humid areas it likes to swell and break down the glue

Good thinking! I am actually installing a dehumidistat switch which will control the exhaust fan. In addition, I am going to do my best to keep air circulating through the room with additional vents and fans.

I'll keep an eye on it though, but the OSB is really there to provide a backing for the masonry rather than offer a great deal of support. If need by, I will bring in more equipment to keep air moving since the stairs sit just above the sump. The last thing I want is for the stairs to become spongy!!! :worried:

To control the exhaust fan, I ordered and installed a Broan DH100W Dehumidistat

Also, I decided to redirect a line from the central air to the fishroom. This line was previously going into the storage. It can easily be redirected again if the need called for it. Since the outer walls of the fishroom will be bricked, I do not want the interior of the room feeling like the Amazon, so I am just trying to do what I can to move as much air in and through the room as possible.

Additional vents will be added to the basement ceiling just in front of the tank and possibly one at the foot of the stairs behind the sump. If need be, I can bring in additional fans, leave the door to the fish room open, maybe a window unit since it will be independently controlled as opposed to the central air line, etc.

Drywall was installed on Friday; mud and tape begins on Monday. I hope to have the mason begin his work on the wall covered by OSB sometime around the middle of August. As you can see in the picture, down the hall there is a small wall with an arched recess. The original plan was to have the mason brick an arch over the tank to compliment that arch and others throughout the house, but we'll see what he has to say when he takes a look.

Well, it looks like it's going to take one more day to get this finished, but here's a progress shot...

Well, for $10 at Lowe's, perhaps this is a little piece of mind. Half-inch insulation that will easily fit between the brick and the tank. I won't be able to slide it out, but I can cut it out after the mortar cures and sleep more easily knowing that the masons are not pushing and pulling mortar and brick back and forth across the tank glass. :)

Im loving this build

Thanks! I think it's coming together nicely! Hopefully I can get the inside of the tank to look as sharp as the outside! :)

Progress... Currently building the temporary support structure for the arch. On schedule to be completed by midafternoon.

I got the RODI about 90% setup. I need to run by Lowe's and pick up a small male/male adapter to connect the two DI canisters as well as install the float valve.

I also have about 120lbs of BRS Fiji that I plan to begin cycling in a trashcan. I will be ordering another 100lbs to add in a second trashcan.

I will be making pillars/columns of varying height out of the rock by drilling it and placing atop PVC piping. Once installed, I will lay secondary pieces at the base of the pillars and as needed.

I worked on the aquascape some and am not 100% on it, but when are we ever completely satisfied with it? :)

Wow looks great, i wish my build was moving this fast.

What sketch up program are you using to get the 2x4's and everything in there?
