Blue Carpet Anemone - FINALLY!

So I went into my LFS (PhishyBusiness) today and I saw something that I have always wanted for many years. A Blue Carpet Anemone... It was the first one I saw in real life so I had to get it! At first I said no because I heard they were so hard to keep... but my Girlfriend said she'd buy it for me... so how could I refuse!

It was also my lucky day since they were having a 25% off fish and coral... so we got him really cheap. I really hope I can care for him properly and he survives... I've had carpet anemones before... just never found a blue one and I've heard how hard they could be.

Wish me luck! Now to find the perfect clowns to go with it!

beautiful, good luck with it, let me know how it goes, interested in one, but too scared right now, looking into a BTA or LTA
 
Very nice, I was looking into that nem, I was going to buy it but my haddoni tank is not ready yet.
Next time i call sedar i will have to ask him if any sales are going on. LOL
 
Thats funny I almost bought that on Saturday after the frag swap and it was 25% off so it was hard to pass up. I did purchase the purple one though, still 25% off.

The good thing is they had four carpets, and had them in their tank for about a month. The one I purchased was very sticky, and I watched it eat before I took it. Know I am just hoping for the best.
 
Thanks all! I know it's only been a day but he is still looking good! I can't keep my eyes off of it .... it looks like it has electric pusles going through it.

Very nice.

Think you will find that once it is settled in, it isn't any harder to keep then any other color. My blue Haddoni is just like my other 4 as far as care is concerned.

I cant take a picture to save my life. It is more purple than what the pictures show, and fully opened it is easily 12".

I realize I picked the harder to keep of the carpets, but I could not pass on the chance to have one, and one that looked so healthy. Also, I had them feed the blue and the purple, and I thought the puple had a better feeding response. In the end it was just a flip of the coin.

Did you go to the frag swap? I made out pretty good. I won both $25 dollar phishy business gift certificates, and a reefgeek t5 retro kit. The reason I purchased the carpet was because of the 25% off and the $50 bucks I won. I had seen all the carpets they had about three weeks ago, so it was on my mind.

Jdrabek very nice, Since its feeding thats a good sign. Sedar knows his stuff i would feel comfortable buying from him.
The gig's move more IMO Mine seems to be moving non stop swayig up and down with the flow.
Love the blue haddoni above though.

Looks like a gigantea. Super tough to find a healthy one but yours looks superb ! best of luck !
 
That looks stunning!!! Yeah keep us posted on how it's doing. Get some cool clowns so we can get more jealous. Really sweet! Good luck!
