Store

Yeah I went today as well, I know he is getting more fish on Monday, and once the sps tanks are set up I can't wait to see it.

Just picked up a very nice blueberry acro colony there. Good size and reasonably priced. Seemed like a nice family-owned business. They are primed for more inventory, and Ryan even volunteered that they take trades. Always happy to support a good lfs!

Is Ryan planning on bringing in SPS? I saw his set up in the old school. He had mostly Zoas and acans.

He is planning to bring that in he said. The whole left side of the store will be high end corals not fragged from my understanding. The store is great and I am sure he will do well. He gets a shipment of Saltwater fish either Monday or Tuesday 11/8 or 11/9 as well

That is very close to me sounds good. I just went to Jurassic Pets which is by Best Buy off of mayfield road. Was gonna go there thursday now I have 2 trips to make!

Personally I would stay away from the saltwater fish and corals at jurassic, very nasty tanks and fish, However anyone wanting freshwater fish that may be a good place to go from mine and my families experience

I stopped by tonight, amazing LEDs over all the tanks, three main water systems, two with extremely quite pumps the owner (energetic young guy, {hmm, perhaps I'm just old} claimed they were rated at 4000gph(!) he had a nice eel, juvenile golden angelfish and some tiny clowns with another wall of tanks yet to get water.

I'm extremely excited to see a store of this caliber close to home and look forward to convincing my wife to check it out!

I stopped by Blue Fish Aquariums today and I am very impressed with Ryan's shop. It is great to see a shop on the EAST side carry high end corals and equipment.

FYI, They are closed on Wednesday's. :headwally:

Found out the hard way fortunately  is right across the street. :spin3:

Great LFS, was just there yesterday. The selection is great, prices are ok, and ppl are friendly. I just moved about 10min away, and was my first time in.

all their fish have ich

This is the worst statement I have ever heard.. ICH is a parasite and all saltwater fish will deal with it on their own. I would purchase a fish with ich and drop him in my DT.

I crashed my entire DT because I tried to use chemical treatment and all kinds of treatment before I realized hey their fish they get over it on their own.

Feed some decent food such as PI mysis or some garlic enriched food and they will be fine.

I give this guy all the credit I can. He takes care of his customers granted I learned a $100 lesson with angel fish because I was told large angels will get along with dwarf angels. That statement may be true but my flame angel was psycho. Granted I lost $100 and I didnt get anything out of it he still took care of me with some clowns.

The best cure for ich is leave them alone and make a stable water environment.

PLEASE READ PLEASE READ PLEASE READ....thats exately why all my fish i bought from him died 19 fish. so heres how the storey began he set up a 90g tank for me then around day 4 told me that it was good to add fish. so i added like 5 fish and he sed nothing would die and all his fish are healthy. then all of them died. so he said to buy a uv sterilizer so i did and i could of bought it online 50 dollars cheaper brand new. then he said the uv would kill all the ich in one week.then i went back and bought more fish around 10 or so. all of them caught ich and died so i come back and he tells me (keep in mind this is word for word) ''ill gie you a flame angel and a cleaner wrasse and we are even''. it was rediculous any way i took it and they die from ich and all their corals are over priced. so thats that now you know why i dont like the store and we thought he was nice in all just like you guys

Little more research would have done us both some good. Yeah everyone has bad experiences. Mine just happens to be petco and I lost around $700 with them jokers.

The reason all your fish got ich was because throwing 10 fish into a tank at one time esp a 90g tank your asking from trouble. That is stress heaven there. 1 fish a month unless your buying same species. I am surprised you didn't have a full reef going in under 2 days a 90g is good for maybe 3-4 fish

Goto Petco you will find Popeye, Fungus, Internal and visible external Parasites such as worms, ICH out the wazoo, I went yesterday and the golder headed goby;s has extremely red gills (High ammonia I say) I had a fish die from petco in under a week and was told my ammo was high at .01ppm on a strip tester. Also their water nitrate is 10ppm and phosphate is 1.0ppm and thats "Clean water".

Petco is a laughing stalk IMO. But like I said we all have our opinions on stores and we all have been treated different. Also in saltwater a UV sterilizer wont do a thing for you unless you can slow it down to less then 50gph even then it may be to fast.

10 fish at once? You gotta be joking right? and how long had your tank been running? did you aclimate them and if so how? always always do some research before making livestock purchases other than asking the guy at the pet store. your post only makes me want to chech out the store for myself

a little bit of research goes a long way..

all their fish have ich

To make such broad based and potentially damaging statement like that instantly devalues any opinion you may provide, in my view.

I was in the neighborhood last weekend and stopped in the store for the first time. The vast majority of the fish looked healthy to me and they had a great 400 gallon display tank up an running. I look forward to seeing their sps frag tank in full swing.
