Blue Haddoni...a Goner or worth treating?

I purchased this blue Haddoni yesterday and put it in my main tank. When I got home earlier today the tank water was cloudy and the anemone was decomposing. I transferred it to a hospital tank. Is it worth treating it with Cipro or will I just be wasting time? I'm leaning towards discarding it but wanted to double check with you RC community thanks.

Not as bad. Mouth was gaping but nothing what it looks like now. I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking it was just stress. But oh well, lesson learned.

I was catching anemone debris with a net in the main tank...that's how bad it was when I pulled it out. It would have been a beautiful animal otherwise. As of late, I passed on gorgeous gigs in favor of a colored Haddoni with a hope of keeping an "easier" carpet anemone but I am 0-1 so far.

Thanks. This one is 100% on me. LFS had just gotten it from a supplier and was still in a bag it came in. Instead of letting it sit at the fish store for a few days, I gambled and needless to say, lost.

We've all done it. I'm a big fan of getting things in the bag before they hit the fish store. It is risky though. \

It stayed in one place the entire time. It hung onto a piece of live rock and the anemone's foot wasn't buried all the way.

Honestly it wasn't all too bad financially. I am not discouraged because I knew going into it this particular anemone was going to be a crapshoot as far as trying to keep it alive. It's hard to tell sometimes what's ahead when an animal is still in a bag from a whole seller.
Rarity of blue Haddonis in my area is what pushed me to make a purchase I normally wouldn't have made. I'm usually pretty good when it comes to risk/mistake management. Had this worked, the benefit would've been amazing.

I had a similar carpet that wanted to be in a place that was not convenient to me. After repeated attempts, it finally stayed where I wanted it. The next day, it blew up, turned inside out and died.
It was all my fault. I know how it feels. Sorry for your loss.

i just got a blue carpet as well! it was in a better shape, but it dis not like my main tank ( Mg is high bryopsis!) had to put it in my 50g cube, its been a week and it is slowly getting bigger. But ill say at least get one with a fully closed mouth and stiky! sorry for youre loss!

Make sure with anemones I like to do a 25% water change a day or two before purchase and I put money down and have ten hold it for at least 3 days unless they have had it or a while. I have never lost an anemone. Give that a shot. Truly unfortunate beautiful piece. Don't let one bad experience ruin you, try again.
