Blue Haddoni Anemone

I just traded out all of my BTA for this guy. My spawning pair of BW's seem confused by the move but I think they should be hosting pretty soon. I need to put more sand in for this guy. Its a 60 gallon reef with 2x150 metal halides btw. How does he look?

Overall I have to say that it looks pretty good. Would like to see a bit less "lines" -- spaces where there aren't any tentacles --- but that is pretty minor.

Yea, I would make the sandbed (( at least in that area )) at least 2 inches deep.

Thanks todd. I just took the picture 30 minutes after dropping him in the tank. But he looked like what a healthy haddoni should look like at the LFS. They had red ones too but the price was triple the cost of the blue one.

Ahh, then I wouldn't be too worried -- my blue one will do that once in a blue moon.

Would have been difficult to pass up the red one(s), don't see those all that often.

Haha yeah the red ones were pretty nice but the price was too much for me. They also had a purple one. I got him for a decent price since I traded in my bubble anemones for it. My clowns already seem interested in it. Ill take more photos tomorrow and hopefully the clowns will be in it by than.

awesome

awesome

good luck with him!

They said you got the best looking blue one. I called but the anemones were all around 12 inches (not fully expanded) which is a bit larger than I would like.

Thanks slk55r, looks like my clowns took to it. Im def going to add more sand tomorrow for it. And clowns 101, it is my favorite LFS in the area, always gets good stuff in.

Rub it in!...lol....I havesnt seen a carpet anemone round here for some time.Ive seen some bleached greens, yellows, etc.I have only seen 1)bleached blue carpet for $169.99 and 2)Yellow carpet for $139.99.Yellow was fine but I wasnt looking for one then.I havent seen them here scence then!Oh and also a bunch of dyed atlantic carpet anemones that are colored to be green when they are really brown!Wanted to sell one for $39.99!

Clowns, you should move out to Orange county, CA haha. We have around 6 LFS in a 15 mile radius over here. SLK55r im thinking of adding a 10 pound bag of Live sand in his area which is closed off by rock from the rest of the reef. I should have thought of it when I picked him up but oh well.

I wish I could!CA is expsive living though! And I have to drive a 200 mile round trip to get salt water fish and a 60 mile round trip for fresh water!

Thank you powderblue, I am really excited about this guy. My clownfish seem to have forgotten all about their bubble tip anemones. Taylor, as far as I can tell their aren't too many bumps under the disk. I added 20 more pounds of live sand to the tank. Here are some more pics of him and the clowns. The tank is still a little cloudy due to the addition of the sand, which you can see particles of on the anemone. The anemones mouth so far is nice and tight and he has shown no signs of deflating.
