Blue Haddoni Carpet question

I accidently overdosed my tank about 4 months ago with kalk, my carpet lost most of its color and I thought with time the color would come back, but the color is still not back. Any ideas on how to get him to color back up? I feed it once a week with a silverside.

Its color should be coming back by now. Any chance of getting a picture?

What are the current parameters? Something has to be off if isn't improving. Once established (( not easy to do )) Haddonis are pretty tough.

"Try feeding mysis shrimp. They are alot better than silversides."

I don't think so. Silversides are a more natural diet.

I am not an expert on any saltwater stuff but I do read a lot. You could probably try enriching its diet with some color enhancing products (just make sure its safe for anemones.) Try doing a water change or even moving him to a different location or put more flow on it. I heard that the kalk can stick to the membrane of anemones and actually hurt them... I don't know how true that is but you may want to read about that.

^^ actually there is a lot of debate on this. carpets in the wild will eat whatever gets stuck in their disc, the majority of which would be smaller food particles, especially in carpets hosting clowns as the clowns would be apt to chase away any larger sized prey fish species. and for anemones like magnifacents smaller food items are definitely the way to go.

I'd mix it up with small pieces of various seafood. Try pieces of clam, squid, tuna, scallop, and other pieces smaller than a pencil eraser.
