I got this fish from a lfs and they said it was eating fine of course I took there word for it (first mistake) I have tried everything under the sun. Mysis, krill, flakes, pellets, kent's garlic, squid. He just spits it back out. I have had him in a 30 gallon with an atlantic blue tang who eats like a horse for about 2 and a half weeks. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My Niger goes absolutely nuts over clams. I would suggest picking up one or two at the grocery store or fish market, popping them open and cutting them up a little.

HOLY COW!! I just noticed that you have these two fish Atlantic Tang and Blue Jaw Trigger in a 30gallon tank???? WOW!! That is wwwaaaaaayyyyyyy tooo small for those two fish!!!

That's probably why he's not eating, cramped in that tiny tank with another fish that's also cramped. You should really think about upgrading their tank size to at a bare minimum a 55gal.... a 90gal+ would actually be better. Do you realize how big those two fish get full grown?

I would suggest taking it back to the LFS unless you are getting a larger tank SOON!

Try live brine, live guppies, or live feeder shrimp. All my bluethroats have taken 3 to 5 days to start eating, or giving them something live to start them eating. The one i just got today i had the fish store hold him till he was eating there and i could see him eating. I would suggest this to anyone trying a bluethroat trigger.

I have a 110 oceanic and they are only up there for quarantine. Do you think I should go ahead and move him to the large tank with all the other tank inhabitants?
