Blue Spot Jawfish/Bulk Buy

Mine is doing well also...fingers crossed... I put the mesh up just to make sure and haven't fully attached it but I will soon..
Mine has created a junkyard in the corner of stuff like shells, small rubble, empty clam shell.. only problem is I can't see him too well..but I'm sure he isn't too concerned with being seen.

That's cool CJ least you still have yours! As far as this goes I just meant a little more research about these fish would have went a long way In keeping them alive for myself and all that have lost them already. Having started the thread I feel some responsibility for It not being more successful.

It is ABSOLUTELY NOT your fault, Bill! Thats ridiculous to think so. ;)

In my case, I should have never put him in my refugium. I should have turned the lights off and stuck him in the display. :-/

Now I know, I suppose...

At this point I'm just going to wait until my nano is up and running. Well, ready I should say. Its technically up and running. :D I may try one again, I'm not 100% sure just yet. :)

You can't blame yourself for me losing my fish for sure! So don't! ;)

Now Brandon you sound like my mom! Point taken and I did not mean to take blame, Just wish things had gone better for all.
Thanks Buddy....

I have to agree with everyone bill it not your fualt and Like to add that I lovemy new fish and thanks again for doing all this for us and sorry for everyones lost.

Bill,

I knew they were jumpers..I knew it was a chance for the 180 jawfish to jump..he did...the other I had a cover for and he is still kicking, eating, and overall just being cool in the tank.

Even with research and knowledge, it happens.

Tonight I lost another fish due to jumping. I lost my prize male Green Terror who was mated with a female and just spawned their 2nd clutch of eggs. He was in a covered (with glass and runner in back) 75 that only has holes for the filtration. He was 6" long and he made it through a 2x3 hole along the intake pipe today...it happens!!

Sorry A lot of the fish didn't make it for everyone and I feel your pain Bill. I have and still am out of town or I would have jumped all over getting on the list for one! They are one of my #1 wants far as fish go! The awsome price you got them at was worth the gamble of getting one to live and stay in the tank IMO!
I did a huge SWF order once and almost everyones fish was DOA or died within hours to days later so since I was the one who placed the order I was suppose to send eveyones dead fish back and get store credit only....People were not mad as I remember but it was a nightmare and I was delivering dead fish and was in a weird spot since I paid up front for folks then asking for cash for a dead fish I had to send back was just a bad deal all the way around! So I think I ended up just eating most of the order and haveing a huge credit with that company. Needless to say telling Cory "aww hush... everyone is paying me back...." kinda came back to bite me in the rear end on that order :).

I just remember feeling awfull SRT80 insisting I take the cash for a pygmy angle who was almost dead but not yet and it died that night so he flushed it absorbing the loss. But the hassle for him and me to send it back was not worth it since we lived pretty far apart and I never thought about him sending it back with my order info from his post office but still, what a pain to send back dead, salted fish!!!
I just remember also having that feeling of being responsiable for folks money being wasted on dead fish and inverts since it was me offering to add on orders for folks to my order.

Live fish are just a gamble and if you can't afford to loose the cash you shouldn't order the fish I guess but it just really sucks when you do spend the cash to watch it all just die infront of you! (like my recent bangi school I got and was soo excited about. They never ate and all slowley disapeared one by one) In Hindsite I should have let you buy them at that meet after all Andy ;)

I console myself by saying " well I would have spent that on eating out one dinner anyways " So I guess thats why my hubby and I never go to nice resturants on dates.... I spend all our going out to eat money on fish I kill in my tank :).

Dang, I thought the Hogs ate you, Nice to see you up and about on the board. Yeah I just felt bad that people wasted money but I guess you buy your ticket and take your chances. Actually It was that Big Royal Gramma that killed mine, Chased It relentlessly. I should have put It In my frag tank, Don't know what I was thinking. And your right one trip for a gallon of milk and your out 50 bucks, Plus my crab had fresh Sushie hehe...

It goes without saying, but this whole hobby is something you shouldn't do unless you can afford some degree of... ummm... "unsuccess". :)

The first fish I lost like this was a Scotts Fairy Wrasse... that one hurt. I shouldn't have had it, anyway, my tank wasn't big enough.

However, I will definitely try a blue spotted again, just next time I'll do it when my 24g is ready. :)
