He sounds like a happy jawfish. If you don't mind, what type of sand did you use and what other tankmates did he have?
Yeah, I guess you could say he was happy..... he ruled the tank! His tankmates were a pair of Picassos clownfish and a yellow assessor. The clowns stayed in there part of the tank for the most part. Although when one would get "too close", the bsjf would flare his gills and open his mouth to scare them away.
As far as substrate goes, I used Carribsea aragomite to about 3 1/2" deep. And I also made sure he had plenty of live rock rubble. It seemed the more he had, the better he liked it. I would put in a handful of rubble and in a matter of minutes, he had used every last piece!
I'm hoping my new blue will turn out like my first one!
