Has anyone successfully kept one of these triggers with any shrimp?
yes, for a little while...the trig will eventually eat it...
How big is your tank? Thanks. I'm not sure I want to risk it now. I'm having a hard time finding a centerpiece fish, either they aren't compatible with something in my tank, get to big, or cost too much.
No issues here. My BT pair haven't been with my shrimp long, though. So there's no telling.
I caught my male BT swimming up to my Cleaner shrimp and getting cleaned on several occasions...

Some may disagree with me, but I think the bluethroat will get too big for your tank. Aside from being a problem for the fish, it just makes the tank look smaller.
What other fish do you have? Maybe we could suggest something else.

By any chance does anyone have any other ideas for a "centerpiece" fish? Maybe an emperor Angel, another tang of some sort? If one of the fish started to get to big for my tank I wouldn't have any problem upgrading in a few years to accommodate it.
My wife really likes the cleaner shrimp so I'm not sure yet if I should take a chance with the trigger eating it. Judging by the responses, it's about a 50/50 shot with the trigger so it's a tuff decision.
